If you're looking for action-packed multiplayer madness then look no further; Mario Strikers Charged gives the perfect multiplayer experience.

This game trumps its predecessor, Mario Strikers, by offering more team captains, more arenas, but also the option of designing your own team. There are eight sidekicks, three of which you choose to play on your team. Each of the sidekicks has their own set of special abilities making your team very versatile.

There is a price to pay with all these new features though; the single player game play is now much more difficult. The different arenas have different effects on your team; you may be surprised as a truck blows over the playing field and knocks some of your characters out of play. This is not to say that it's not possible, just very difficult to unlock new characters and playing fields.

But when it comes to multiplayer, this game could entertain for hours. Creating the perfect team then taking on your friends, hurling classic Super Mario Bros. items such as green shells, red shells, or having a chain chomp set loose on the field. The game play is intense and fast-paced.

Overall I have to say that the game was enjoyable. It is a great idea for a party. However, unlocking all the features in single player is somewhat difficult, but makes the multiplayer more enjoyable later on. If you liked the first game, then this is a definite must to add to your collection. If you haven't played the first one, head out to your local rental outlet and give this a try. It's sure to be a blast.
