What If? Around the World – Vanishing Point

You’re reading this because I have disappeared. This is how it’s meant to be. But I don’t want you to hurt; you deserve an explanation. You remember the story, but not like I do.

Back in kindergarten, Mr. Davies once promised Zach, Ellie and I he’d take us to the end of the rainbow. For weeks, we reminded him every day at recess: “When are we leaving, Mr. Davies?” “Can I bring my teddy bear?” He’d laugh and shrug off the questions with a conspiratorial wink.
By the time he realized he’d made a mistake, that we were taking him seriously, it was too late. Our patience had reached an end, our trust diminished. We were gone. Read the rest of this entry »
