there was never anything as beautiful as you

engineered and all-natural, you glow

with the strength of a 50 watt bulb

in time i’ll admit: you’ve dimmed, its true

but still there is nothing as perfect as you

over your creator’s head you’re set apart, and lie beside

your brother and sister fruit-bulbs

ten of a kind and one of a set

lighting the tracks of a dusty mind

ten of a whole, and one of a kind
